Nintendo to Release Splatoon 2 Themed Joy-Con 2 Controllers

Seven months after the release of their new console, Nintendo has announced the first alternative set of colors for the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con 2 controllers. Instead of the traditional orange and blue, these new controllers have colors inspired by the second instalment in Nintendo's popular third-person shooter franchise Splatoon.

When asked why they chose this game for their first new controller variants the company said: "We want to encourage people to show off their love for all things 2: Switch 2, Splatoon 2... Everyone is asking us for 3rd kits, but where is the love for 2nd kits?"

The design of the Joy-Cons, which seems to take inspiration from the Splatoon: Octo Expansion DLC, has been very well received by the community. Now Splatoon fans with some extra cash can pre-purchase the Joy-Cons for a solid $99.99 so that they get the opportunity to enjoy the new colors about 5% of the time, when they are not attached to the console. But hey, we know they are there.
